About 50 members gathered on 27th January at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel to hear Dame Julia Cleverdon give a fascinating talk about her childhood in London. Her father, BBC radio producer Douglas Cleverdon, was instrumental in encouraging Dylan Thomas to finish ‘Under Milk Wood’ and their home was frequented by famous people such as the poet David Jones, actor Richard Burton, and many other luminaries of the literary and artistic world.
